Check for updates

How to check for Kinza updates.

if a newer version is available when you start up Kinza, an update notification appears on the desktop. Then, click the message to open the Download page.

Omnibox (Address bar)

You can access the search results pages of various search engines by entering keywords in the Omnibox (address bar).

Once keywords are entered, results of various search engines are shown in the address bar drop-down list.
Then, if there is your expected search results page, you can access the page by clicking it.

You can change the order in which the search engines appear in the drop-down list. You can also add or delete search engines from the list. Click the Kinza button > “Settings” > “General” > “Manage search engines”.

Tab actions

You can open several tabs in one window of Kinza, and browse several web pages in a cross-sectional way by switching the tabs.

To close an existing tab, click the "X" button shown on the right side of the tab.

New Tab

Reload the current page.
Duplicate
Duplicate the current page and show it in a new tab.
Pin Tab
Pin a tab to prevent it from being closed by mistake.

Close all tabs except the current tab when several tabs are opened.
Close tabs to the left
Close all tabs to the left of the current tab when several tabs are opened.
Close tabs to the right
Close all tabs to the right of the current tab when several tabs are opened.

If you are using a mouse with a wheel, you can switch tabs by rolling the mouse wheel on the tab-bar.

You can close a tab by double-clicking the left button of your mouse on the tab you want to close.

Click the Kinza button > "Settings" > "Tabs."

Tab Shape
You can change the tab shape as desired. You can select the shape from the following options:
  • Rounded Rectangular
  • Rectangular
  • Trapezoid
Position of Tabbar
You can set the position of the tab bar to either “Left”, “Top” or “Right”. If you choose to position your tab bar “Left” or “Right” you have the additional option to display the tabs in “Simple” mode or in “Tree” mode.
Depending on the selected display mode you have the following additional configuration options:
  • Hide the top of the tab bar
  • Hide search box
  • Hide the new tab button
  • Height of tab
  • Enlargement / Reduction
  • Behavior when parent tab is closed
    • Close children tabs too
    • Move children tabs to upper layer
Tab actions
On this page, you can configure tab action settings. The following settings are available:
  • Switch tabs when rolling the mouse wheel on the tab-bar (available on the tab-bar).
  • Enable to close page by double click
  • Enable to close page by right click (show menu with Ctrl or Shift modifier)
  • Always hide close button
Opening tab pages
You can specify which tab pages are opened from "Bookmark bar," "Omnibox Search" and "Omnibox URL." The following settings are available:
  • Current tab page
  • New tab page (foreground)
  • New tab page (background)

You can select one from the following three options:
  • Close browser
  • Close browser (last tab is new tab)

  • Popup a confirmation message box when a window has multi tabs



Print web pages

You can print the web page displayed by Kinza by the following procedure.

1. Open the Kinza menu and click "Print..."

2. The Print page opens. Then, configure the settings and click the "Print" button.
The following settings are available:
Destination
Select the printer to be used.
Pages
Set the pages to be printed.
Copies
Set the number of copies.
Layout
Set the layout to Portrait or Landscape.
Color
Specify whether to print the page in black and white or in color.
Paper size
Select the paper size.
Margins
Set margins.
Quality
Set uality.
Scale
Set scale.
Options
Set other options. The following settings are available:
  • Headers and footers
  • Two-sided
  • Background color and graphics
Zoom in and out the current web page

You can zoom the web page displayed by Kinza by the following procedure.

Open theKinza menu and click "+" and "-" to the right of "Zoom" to zoom in and out, respectively.

Click to display the page in full screen.

If you are using a mouse, you can easily zoom in and out by rolling the mouse wheel while pressing Ctrl.

Enable external plug-ins

To use external plug-ins, such as Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash, on Kinza, you need to install such software by yourself.

How to install Adobe Flash Player
  1. Access the Adobe web site (https://get.adobe.com/jp/flashplayer/otherversions/) and install Adobe Flash Player.
    *) Also see Installation of Adobe Flash Player above for installation.
  2. Open the Plug-inssettings page (chrome://extensions /) and enable Adobe Flash Player.
    (This is not necessary if already enabled.)
Clear history and cookies

You can clear the browsing data and cookies by the following procedure.

1. Open the Kinza menu and click "More tools" > "Clear browsing data..."

Select from which point of time you want to clear the browsing data and which items to be cleared, then click the Clear browsing data button.
Import and export bookmarks

You can import bookmarks and settings from and export bookmarks to other browsers by the following procedure.

Open the Kinza menu > "Bookmarks" > "Import bookmarks and settings..."

Select from which browser and which items you want to import, then click the "Import" button on the detailed settings window.
You can also import bookmarks exported to HTML files from other browsers.

Click "Organize" in the top-left of the Bookmark Manager page. Click "Export bookmarks to HTML file..."
The HTML file can be imported to other browsers (with some exceptions).
Install Chrome applications (extensions)

You can use various extensions available in Chrome Web Store on Kinza.

Go incognito

Kinza offers incognito mode with enhanced privacy protection.

1. Open the Kinza menu and click "Open Secret window."

The browsing history and cookies are not stored in incognito mode, so that you can feel safe to browse the web.
